5 students probed for chanting Kurdish slogans 2015-05-28 11:37:01 HATAY (DİHA) - The rectorship of Mustafa Kemal University has opened investigation on 5 woman students protesting threat of Tayfur Sökmen Female Student Dormitory towards Kurdish woman student N.K.. The probe has been launched on grounds of shouting Kurdish slogans. It is demanding firing the students from the dormitory. The students had chanted the Kurdish slogans of "Bê zıman jiyan na be (No life without language", "Perwerdehî Bi Kurdî xweşe (Education on Kurdish is good)", "Her canlı kendi diliyle yaşar (Each humanbeing lives with its own language)", "Zımanê me hebûna me ye (Our language is our existence)" and "Out of spite; X, W, Q". These slogand have been regarded as "beneathing the national unity and solidarity, ideological and political oriented". The rectorship has demanded defenses from the students. The students, on the other hand, applied to Human Rights Association (İHD) Hatay Branch. N.K. said there was oppression on the Kurdish students in the dormitory. The security personnel are also threatening the Kurdish students, added N.K.. (nt)
