Molotov attack on HDP election bureau
ANKARA (DİHA) – As attacks on HDP (Peoples' Democratic Party) members, supporters and election offices continue going unpunished in line with the ongoing provocative statements of the AKP officials, the party is facing further attacks in almost all cities and districts across Turkey every day.
As part of the systematic attack against the party, an attacker threw a Molotov cocktail at a HDP women's elections bureau in Ankara at Thursday evening.
In Ankara's Mamak district, two HDP activists from the women's elections bureau were walking down the street when a passerby warned them that there had been a masked individual at the end of the street. Shortly thereafter, an attacker attempted to throw a Molotov cocktail into the building. However, the shouts of the activists inside caused the attacker to panic and the Molotov hit the sidewalk.
The attacker ran, but was later arrested. There have been more than 100 attacks on HDP elections offices in recent months in the course of the 2015 election campaign.
