Thousands pay tribute to BÖG Commander Akdeniz in funeral
ADANA (DİHA) - Thousands of people bid farewell to Joint Freedom Forces (BÖG) Commander Bedrettin Akdeniz (Ekin İnce Memed/Suphi Şoreş) in southern province of Adana.
The body of the Joint Freedom Forces (BÖG) Commander Bedrettin Akdeniz (nom de guerre Ekin İnce Memed/Suphi Şoreş) was laid to rest by thousands of people in southern province of Adana following a massive ceremony. BÖG Commander Akdeniz lost his life a mine explosion in the cleansing operations initiated by YPG forces in Til Xemzir.
Massive crowd march for Akdeniz
Thousands of people including Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) executives, HDP deputy candidates, SDP General Head Ufuk Göllü, MEYA-DER, TUHAD-FED, MKM, DEM-GENÇ, KJA, Dev-Lis, Dev-Güç, BÖG executives and activists of Peace Mothers Assembly joined the funeral ceremony and held a massive march towards the cemetery.
His mother shoulders her son's coffin
The flags of YPG, BÖG, PKK, Red Flag, posters of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan and BÖG Commander Akdeniz were carried in the march towards the cemetery. The crowd frequently chanted "Comrade Bedrettin is immortal", and "Martyrs are immortal" along the massive march. Akdeniz's mother shouldered her son's coffin.
'Let this cruelty and bloodshed end'
Speaking after one minute respect silence, BÖG Commander Akdeniz's mother Sabiha Akdeniz said, "I lost one Bedrettin, but now have thousands of sons. You all are my son and daughters. Let this cruelty and bloodshed end". Akdeniz's brother Cemalettin Akdeniz spoke and stated his brother conducted struggle at fronts for a better and free life.
In the wake of speeches, the crowd left the cemetery and visited condolence tent set in Seyhan district.
