3 fighters of YPG laid to rest in Adana and Amed
ADANA/DİYARBAKIR (DİHA) - Tens of thousands of people bid farewell to YPG fighters Fatih Tanrıverdi (Şoreş Andok), Diyar Bakır (Kûrdo Amed) and Feyzi Çakar (Rizgar Amed) in Adana and Amed (Diyarbakır in Turkish) following massive funeral ceremonies.
The body of the YPG (People's Protection Units) fighter Fatih Tanrıverdi (Şoreş Andok), lost his life in the clashes with Daesh gangs in Kobanê, was laid to rest by thousands of people in Adana. Thousands of people including Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) executives, MKM, TUHAD-FED, ESP and non-governmental organizations representatives joined the funeral ceremony.
The flags of YPG, KCK, and posters of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan and YPG fighter Tanrıverdi were carried in the march towards the cemetery. The crowd frequently chanted "Long live resistance of YPG/YPJ", and "Martyrs are immortal" along the massive march. Joint Freedom Units (BÖG) Commander Bedrettin Akdeniz's mother and brothers joined the funeral ceremony. Akdeniz lost his life in Kobanê last week.
A group of youths opened a 250-metre PKK flag in the march. One minute silence was held in memory of all those who lost their lives in the struggle of freedom and democracy. The Kurdish national march "Çerxa Şoreşê" was sung.
YPG fighter Tanrıverdi's father Mehmet Şerif Tanrıverdi said, "He is martyr of all Kurdistan. I condole all the Kurdish people and our leader Dear Abdullah Öcalan". In the wake of speeches, the funeral ceremony ended amid slogans of "Martyrs do not die".
Massive farewell for 2 YPG fighters in Amed
Meanwhile, funeral of YPG fighters Diyar Bakır (Kûrdo Amed) and Feyzi Çakar (Rizgar Amed) were laid to rest in the main Kurdish city of Amed. Thousands of people including HDP and DBP executives, HDP Diyarbakır deputy candidates, co-mayors and activists of Peace Mothers Assembly took part in the funeral ceremony.
The crowd held a march towards the funeral ceremony with the flags of YPG, posters of Öcalan and YPG fighters. They frequently chanted slogans in support of Rojava esistance. One minute silence was held in memory of all those who lost their lives in the struggle of freedom and democracy.
