Erzurum Governor deeply occupied with broken glass!
ERZURUM (DİHA) - At least 13 HDP supporters, one critically, were wounded in the police-backed racist attack in eastern province of Erzurum where HDP held its election rally yesterday. But, Erzurum Governor Ahmet Altıparmak has been deeply occupied with the broken glass of AKP's election office, not with the lives of HDP supporters.
The fascist attack on the Erzurum HDP rally started at around 10:00 a.m., when a group of around 1,000 people carrying Turkish flags started marching, saying they would not let the HDP meeting take place. Attackers first threw stones at a minivan decorated in HDP flags, then set it on fire. Police observed the attack from a close distance and did not intervene, as attackers attempted to burn the driver alive. The minivan burned to the ground. Driver Aydın Taşkesen is currently in critical condition in the ICU.
Governor occupied with AKP's broken glass!
Many police were positioned near the rally site, but did not stop the fascist group from insulting and throwing stones at HDP supporters for an extended period. They later attacked with pressurized water. In the wake of racist attack, a delegation from the HDP met with Erzurum Governor Ahmet Altıparmak.
HDP Erzurum Deputy Candidate Şiyar Arslan said the governor ignored the wounded citizens and occupied with the broken glass of AKP's election office. The glass of the office were broken during the tension in the wake of fascist attack by AKP supporters. Arslan stated the governor said them, "AKP election office's glass has been broken there. How do I answer to AKP? How can I account for?".
'They organized these attacks'
The deputy candidate criticized him fiercely, saying, "Some of our wounded friends are strugglling for life. They are in critical condition. We met with the governor. We told the incient to him. Humans are grappling with death here. The ethical thing is to claim these wounded people, not broken glass".
Arslan added the governor had protected the attacker AKP supporters. He underlined that the governor and police together organized the racist attacks.
